Information I Collect

To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact me directly.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

How to Contact Me

For purposes of EU data protection law, Etsy is the data controller of your personal information. I, Sandra Hinchliffe am also a data controller of your personal information when you place and order with me. If you have any questions or concerns, you must contact Etsy directly. You may also contact me through Etsy conversations. I do not accept correspondence outside of Etsy. You may contact me to remove your personal information from my customer lists, but for full deletion of your information off of the Etsy platform you need to contact Etsy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Custom and personalized orders

Yes, books may be autographed as well as set items. Some spa products may be customized or bespoke by special order. These are non-refundable orders unless damaged in shipment or the wrong item was sent.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I can do this! I offer a gift wrapping service and offer a limited number of designs. There is an extra charge for gift wrapping and a separate listing in my store that you must select and pay for the gift wrapping service. I will be in touch with you regarding the custom gift wrap design that you would like.

Wholesale availability

And I can do this! Please contact me for details and the products or books you are interested in.

What if my order is missing from the package when I receive it?

We videotape ALL shipping procedures. If you have ordered from us, we have a tape showing that the item(s) have been packaged, sealed, and labeled. If the shipping company has a thief, it's rare, but it can happen. In this case, since we maintain video proof of packing, sealing, labeling, shipping, products that disappear from inside of the box enroute to we MUST have an insurance claim processed through the shipper ONLY. WE DO NOT provide a refund or replacement. You will be advised at the time we ship your package how much the package is insured for, if any. If you desire additional insurance, BEFORE we ship the package, you will be given the option to purchase this insurance.

What is your return policy?

Due to covid and other infectious diseases we no longer accept returns for health and safety reasons. However, we want to make it right if something is wrong! If your product arrives damaged, we will replace the product if you send us photos showing the damage in detail. We do not replace items without photo proof under any circumstance.

We disclose all ingredients in our products, please read the ingredient list and description carefully. When you purchase from an online store it is impossible to taste or smell products. We cannot provide refunds or replacement for personal reasons or preferences.

What if I have received the wrong item?

Again, order fulfillment is videotaped from start to finish. Packing, invoice matching with product, sealing the package, and shipping. If you have received the wrong item we will review the video tapes and if this is our error, we will gladly ship you the product you ordered free of charge. The customer is also entitled to a copy of the video tape of the packaging process of their order if there is any question as to what was actually packaged in their box.

What if my order is marked delivered by the shipper but I have not received it?

This is a shipper error, and a shipper responsibility, not a store error. If you opted to buy shipping insurance, or your order already includes insurance with the standard shipping (typically, the included insurance will be for up to $100, but not always) we will help you file a claim with the shipper. We will advise you upon shipping whether or not your order includes shipping insurance and give you the opportunity to purchase shipping insurance if you wish. We do not provide refunds for products marked delivered, but not received. We will, however, assist you in tracking down orders that may have been delivered to a wrong address and/or file an insurance claim with the shipper.

May I contact you off of Etsy's platform?

No. All communication with our Etsy store must take place through Etsy conversations.
